I clearly remember during the Shaq and Kobe feud that most fans hated Kobe for not deferring to Shaq and eventually forcing Shaq out. Where are those fans now? It seems today everybody loves Kobe and hates Shaq.

For the record, I have always been anti-Shaq because he never respected the game. He always acted like he was naturally built to play good (doesn’t have to train hard), in contrast to Kobe having to train hard everyday.

Let me be clear that I am thankful and recognize that Shaq was instrumental in the 3-peat.  However, he should have deferred to Kobe when it was clear that he wasn’t fit and Kobe was fast rising.  The funny thing is, when he went to Miami, he willingly deferred to Wayde.
