Easy? No, but Lakers rolling anyway

EL SEGUNDO - On paper, the games look easy.
On the court, it can be a different story.
The Lakers won their ninth consecutive game with a double-digit victory Tuesday night over the seemingly overmatched Portland Trail Blazers at Staples Center. It was not smooth or simple or easy in any way, however.
It was a grind, a game that might have gone the other way if not for the Lakers’ ability to maintain their concentration. Instead of bowing to the Trail Blazers’ superior intensity in the first half, the Lakers regrouped and regained their rhythm after halftime.
“I think it’s a great sign,” Pau Gasol said. “We were able to bounce back when things didn’t go as well as they usually go.”
Although they are in the midst of a five-game stretch in which they face only non-playoff teams, the Lakers say they are just as focused as if they were playing their top rivals in the Western Conference.
