Bobcats and All-Star Thoughts

First of all, that recent loss against the Bobcats does not count – we expected the Lakers to lose that game. Charlotte is Los Angeles’ kryptonite. I wouldn’t read much into any of the Bobcat games against the Lakers. (Unless they meet in the finals!)
It must be a matchup thing. The Bobcats are athletic before, with Emeka Okafor and Gerald Wallace. The addition of Boris Diaw and Raja Bell even makes them more athletic. Yes, even though Bell has lost a step of two.
I’ve seen Andrew Bynum’s flagrant foul on Gerald Wallace. I don’t think it was intentional. It was a hard foul but without the intention of hurting. I guess Bynum just doesn’t know how he his strength has improved dramatically.
I just wonder though, why Bynum has gotten in the habit of giving hard fouls. He’s tall and should be able to just swat the ball away. I know he does that when he gets beat, but still.
I’m a little bit excited with the reunion of the triangle – Kobe, Shaq and Phil. I wonder what Phil has in store for us. Imagine, Shaq and Kobe reminiscing those good ol’ days by making plays they’ve been doing – no, not the media thing, the plays on the court.
If I were Kobe, I would try make Shaq the MVP of the game. The timing is perfect. The all-star game is in Phoenix. Shaq’s re-discovering his form. This is the best way of saying to Shaq, “You lost in the Laker alpha dog wars, here’s your consolation prize.” Also, imagine how this would endear Kobe to basketball fans – Shaq rips Kobe and Kobe makes Shaq the MVP. We all know Kobe made Shaq better. Shaq was great but he was better when Kobe came along. (Peace, Shaq fanatics.)
Also, imagine this, Shaq tries to be MVP. Kobe feeds and feeds Shaq until Shaq, trying hard to be the MVP, injures his whatever. Shaq is out for the season so the Suns is out of the playoff picture. One less true playoff team to worry about.
Wishful thinking.
