Lakers 2, Spurs 0

  • Spurs flew home using a New York Knicks plane.  Now, isn’t that ominous? For the Spurs, that is.
  • Phil Jackson didn’t wait for the fourth quarter to double-team Tim.  PJ, I think, is trying to impress me.  Stop it Phil, I already admitted that I made a mistake and that you still are the better coach when pitted against Pop.  Heck, you are still the best coach ever, in my book at least.
  • As expected, Kobe attempted more than 3 attempts.  As expected, Kobe did not hoist a lot of shots.  He was efficient (do I sound like an expert now?).
  • As expected, LO and D-Fish bounced back.  When LO plays like that, the Lakers are unbeatable.
  • Kobe was spectacular with his drive and dish.  Drive and pass to Lamar… to Pau… to Sasha.
  • It looked like Kobe was having fun shooting against Bowen. It’s either Kobe figured Bowen out or Bowen is just 100 steps slower now.  Kobe said in the post-game interview that he called the bank shot he made (with Bowen guarding him).  I believe him.
  • You gotta love Ronnie Turiaf.  His  “Sasha Vujacic” chant was crazy.

  • I just hope Bruce “Lee” Bowen doesn’t get lucky with his feet.  There were times Kobe almost landed on them.  I think I get how Kobe doesn’t get tangled with Bowen’s feet often.  When Kobe shoots, he almost exclusively fades away, evading the Bowen’s feet.
  • Farmar’s block on Udoka was sensational.  Ladies and gentlemen, Jordan Farmar is back after being abducted by the aliens.
  • I mentioned in my last post that the gods must be rooting for Los Angeles.  One of the gods there, of course, is David Stern.  Asked about his dream finals earlier this decade, Stern said “Lakers vs. Lakers”.   Who can blame Stern?  The Los Angeles Lakers is the sports franchise of the world.
  • My heart tells me the Lakers will win game 3.  My mind tells me the Spurs will win game 3.
