Los Angeles Lakers Tickets

Lakers and the 2009 All-Star Break

The Los Angeles have 4 days off and I think they need it.  My long term concern is that they are trying really hard to gain home court advantage throughout the playoffs. they may be burnt out come playoff time.

I was expecting the Lakers to lose that one at Utah, just like I expected them to lose one against Charlotte.  Am I clairvoyant?  No.  I’m just your regular Laker fan pessimist.

Just kidding.

Look, they just had a 7 game winning streak, including games against the two best teams in the east (sorry Orlando but Jameer is out).  They won 6 games straight on the road and the Oklahoma Thunder just competed with them.  The Lakers were due a loss, especially since they were playing Utah on the road. Yes, it’s as simple as that.

What’s up with Kobe?  He doesn’t have to score that much.  It looks like Kobe is going back to vintage Kobe, the shooting Kobe.  Don’t get me wrong.  I love Kobe but it seems he’s back to his old ways.

Anyways, on to the All-Star Game in Phoenix!

Can you imagine seeing Kobe, Pau and Shaq playing together?  I’m sure you’ll see it come February 15.  Maybe Laker fans will salivate at the sight of this big 3.  In Laker uniform, this won’t happen, however, unless Shaq plays for peanuts after his contract expires.

Back to the All-Star Game.  Imagine this, Kobe lobbing a pass to Shaq for an alley-oop dunk.  Wait, can Shaq still catch Kobe’s passes?  Can he jump that high?  The last time I saw him play (against the Sixers), Shaq looked like he was glued to the ground.

Just kidding, Shaq.

If I were Phil, I would try to put 5 center/forwards in the game at the same time – Yao at Center, Amare at PF, Duncan at SF, Pau at SG and Shaq at PG.  It would be a blast!
