Lakers 2, Spurs 1

  • The Los Angeles Lakers definitely lost this game.  Of the big three, only Kobe came to play.  I guess you can’t fault Lamar and Pau for that.  Every game from hereon in (well, after the 1st or 2nd round actually) will be their first time this deep in the playoffs.  I just hope that these 2 bigs learn from their mistakes… quickly.  Yep, San Antonio didn’t win this one.
  • If you look at the boxscore, the stats don’t define the real Lakers.  We can start at the freethrow line (47%) and stop there.  Well, let’s not stop there.  The Spurs dished 22 assists to Lakers’ 13… uncharacteristic.
  • Lamar owned up the responsibility on this one.  I guess after shooting 2 of 11, it’s hard to argue against him.
  • I guess if the first 2 games showed the Spurs’ (old) age, this game showed the Lakers’  youth.  They just can’t follow Kobe’s killer instinct.  They need more trips to the playoffs.  Even Fisher acted like a rookie.
  • I hope it’s just the jitters of having to play for the first time in the opponent’s home court in the playoffs.  Hopefully, in game 4, the Lakers will be more loose.
  • If Manu’s performance dictates the success of the Spurs, Lamar’s performance dictates the success of the Lakers.
  • Don’t look now, if San Antonio wins game 4, they will have regained the mental edge in this series.
  • My heart tells me Los Angeles will win game 4.  My mind tells me San Antonio will win game 4.
  • There’s not much to say when the team you’re rooting for loses.
