Lakers are NBA 2009 champs!

Wow. I'm really happy for Kobe and Phil. Now, first things first, why didn't I predict the Lakers to win it all? In the Houston series, I predicted that the Rockets will win game 7. In the Nuggets series, I predicted that the Nuggets would win in 6. In the championship round, I predicted that Orlando will win in 5.
So let's review what actually happened. The Lakers won game 7 against the Rockets. The Lakers beat the Nuggets in 6 games. The Lakers beat the Magic in 5 games. Exact opposites of my predictions!
Well, somehow I believe in jinxes. And if I believe in jinxes, I believe in anti-jinxes. If Bill Simmons did it for his beloved Celtics last year, I certainly can do it for my Lakers this year.
What did I do again? Simply, I picked the Lakers' opponent to win hoping that fate would turn against me and let the one I pick lose. I know it's a dangerous game to play especially since you're trying to trick fate. Wait, let me re-phrase that - I know it's a stupid principle.
But... hey, the Lakers won it all! I'm stupid. I'm happy.
