Shaq disses Kobe… again.
June 25th, 2008 Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal

I’m supposed to be “on vacation” but I can’t resist commenting on Shaq stupid behavior.
“You know how I be. Last week Kobe couldn’t do without me.”
“I’m a horse. Kobe ratted me out. That’s why I’m getting divorced. He said Shaq gave a mil. I don’t do that ’cause my name’s Shaquille.”
That’s an excerpt of Shaq’s freestyle rap at a New York nightclub.
Then, he says to ESPN, “It was all done in fun. Nothing serious whatsoever . . . I’m totally cool with Kobe. No issue at all.”

June 21st, 2008 Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol

Unlike Wolverine or Kobe Bryant, I don’t heal (or bounce back) so easily. I don’t think I can write anything about the Lakers for several weeks. I need time to lick my wounds. I think I am more wounded than Lamar Odom. You may say that Pau Gasol is soft but I saw that he tried. Odom, on the other hand, I didn’t see him try to be physical.
Alright, I need my own vacation. I don’t want to talk anything Lakers or NBA right now.

Yesterday…
All my troubles seemed so far away.
Now, it looks as though they’re here to stay.
Oh, I believe… in yesterday.
Congratulations to the Boston Celtics - they deserve to win.
To the Los Angeles Lakers - keep your head up. No one expected you to reach the finals this year. Let’s go get ‘em next year!
One, two, three… LAKES!

Lakers Offensive/Celtics Defensive Strategy
The Laker offense is an open secret. Los Angeles will run the triangle most of the time. In the second quarter, the bench mob will run, run and run. If they can’t run, they will set the triangle. In the fourth quarter’s final minutes, Kobe will create scoring opportunities and will run the triangle from time to time. If they lead by two digits in the fourth, the triangle will be a staple. Otherwise, Kobe will mostly be isolated - look for Odom or Pau to dive while Kobe penetrates though.
The Celtics will want Kobe to score a lot so his teammates can’t find a groove. Kobe has the tendency to be a “space cadet” too especially when his health is 100% (which allegedly is, excluding the most famous pinkie in the world).
The text above is actually a copy of the Lakers offensive strategy in the Spurs series, hehe.
Now, let’s go to some custom Celtic defensive strategy. I’m sure the Celtics have seen how the Spurs have failed to contain Kobe’s jumpshot. They also know that they don’t have a Bruce Bowen in their team, even if Bowen is a step slower. » read more
Lakers 4, Spurs 1

- Another come-from-behind victory that didn’t look like a come-from-behind. These Lakers are spoiled brats.
- The Spurs have nothing to worry about. They will still contenders in the next couple of years. Their big three did well enough even though Manu was struggling. (Manu was just injured.) The rest of the team, however, needs to be changed, most notably Horry. He didn’t even get the chance of attacking Kobe out of the playoffs.
- Sasha’s trey on the buzzer got in the nerves of Finley. Who can blame Sasha? The Spurs played seriously until their very last offensive play. Besides, it’s Sasha for heaven’s sake!
- Kobe’s endgame (with Pau) was a masterpiece. Pau Gasol should feel lucky he was the one doing the pick (props). Every Laker possession during the last 5 to 7 minutes was either a painting or a chess game. (Guess who’s the painter or the grandmaster?) Kobe was surveying the field. Pau making his slender pick. Kobe attacking. Duncan staying back to defend Kobe. Kobe making each shot. Duncan shaking his head with each Kobe shot.
- Kobe, the Jaguar, in this game is more appropriate than the Black Mamba. He surveys the field then makes the attack. It’s just a shame that Duncan is the prey. The Jaguar , of course, fell down from a tree that Kenyon Martin shook. » read more
